The Bardiani CSF and Trek Segafredo teams have confirmed their line-ups for the Tour of Britain, which begins in Glasgow on Sunday (4 September), with Rio Olympic Silver medallist Jack Bobridge among the line-ups.

The 27-year-old Australian, who is also the current National Road Race Champion, won a Silver medal in the Team Pursuit.

Bobridge will join the already confirmed Giacomo Nizzolo and Boy Van Poppel in the Trek Segafredo line-up, as well as Italian trio Eugenio Alafaci, Jacopo Mosca and Marco Coledan.

Former Yellow Jersey and summit finish stage winner Edoardo Zardini leads the Bardiani CSF team, that also include another climber in Manuel Bongiorno.

Completing their line-up are Nicola Boem and Alessandro Tonelli, and sprinters Paolo Simion and Nicola Ruffoni, the latter who came second behind Marcel Kittel on Stage One of the Tour of Britain in 2014.

“In France we collected wins and great performances, we’re ready to continue the series” explained team director Stefano Zanatta. “We selected a well equipped team. All the riders have a positive running-in so far and condition is pretty good. I’ll ask them to be focused every day doing their best. Everyone will have enough freedom to leave a mark on the race. I hope and expect they don’t lose this chance”.

Also confirming their line-ups for Britain’s biggest professional cycle race on Tuesday afternoon were British UCI Continental teams NFTO and JLT Condor presented by Mavic.

NFTO will include former Tour of Britain top 10 finisher Rob Partridge and winner of this year’s Manx, Rydale and Wiltshire Grand Prix’s Ian Bibby.

JLT Condor presented by Mavic are led by another former 10 finisher in Russell Downing, along with winner of the Rutland Cicle Classic Connor Dunne, both pictured in their line-up below.
