The Tour of Britain, British Cycling’s premier road cycling event and the UK’s national Tour, has been shortlisted for the Global Sport Tourism Awards, which take place next week at the WTM Global Sport Tourism Summit in London.

The Tour of Britain is shortlisted in the Sport Tourism Major Event category alongside four other events, including the Tour de Yorkshire and the Rugby World Cup.

The awards will take place at the inaugural Global Sport Tourism Summit, which takes place during the WTM London, the leading global event for the world travel industry, at London's Excel Centre.

A number of Tour of Britain partners are also shortlisted in other categories, including SKODA for the Sport Tourism Sponsorship award and EventScotland in the Overall Global Sports Tourism Impact award.
