12/09/2009 – Stage One Update

Phew!  What a stage!

Beautiful sunshine, great action and of course fantastic crowds all the way from the start in Central Park at Scunthorpe to York where there was an exciting finish with the sprint going right down to the line.

Ashby, Burringham, Pocklington…to be fair we could list just about every town or village we passed through and even some more remote spots in betwwen.  So thanks for your great support, it really is appreciated!  Also it looks like North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire and Humberside have set the standard pretty high, so get out there and make your stage the best attended.

Of course if you couldn't make out during the day we're doing our very best to keep you fully updated.  There's our Twitter feed keeping you updated with the latest happenings from inside one of the cars within the race, there's the fantastic live tracking that means you know exactly where the race is and then finally there are the nightly highlights on ITV4.

So now it's on to the North East and Darlington tomorrow morning.  From there we'll be heading north to NewcastleGateshead and it looks like we'll be all set for another bunch sprint next to the famous River Tyne.

Last year it was Petacchi, so who will it be in 2009?  Sutton?  Swift?  Pozzato?  Brown?  Wow, sounds like it'll be another great stage, we can't wait!
