16/09/2009 – Time flies by

Time’s flying by isn’t it. Hopefully you’ve all been watching and catching the great action on the ITV4 highlights show each evening. Five stages in and we’ve had three wins for Edvald Boasson Hagen (again!) and an emotional yellow jersey for Kai Reus, winning his first race since a life threatening crash in 2007. Of course as we reach the South West, Boasson Hagen is now in yellow, with a team backing him up who look ominously strong! Thursday’s stage could well shape the race (just as in 2007 and 2008), so remember to keep visiting the website to get all the latest updates with the live tracking and via Twitter. Tomorrow will be the first stage finish in Devon in the history of the modern Tour of Britain, something that is sure to be celebrated in Bideford with over 5,000 school children supposed to be out on the route. It’ll be sure to provide a noisy and colourful spectacle, so again check out the ITV4 highlights! Also if you’re going to be at the roadside in Somerset, Devon or London, bang those boards and make some noise, as the riders have all been commenting in the press conferences about the great crowds and how the noise and cheering motivates them. So keep the noise and support coming, and don’t forget it you are the roadside, bring some loose change along, as the volunteers from The Prostate Cancer Charity will be out in force collecting for a very good cause!
