20/07/2010 – Going Live!
Blogs hey, they're like buses! You wait for ages for one and then two come along together. So here's my second blog this month, after all we did promise you'd be getting a lot more Tour of Britain information over the coming weeks as we build up to September.
If you've had a look around the website this week you'll see there's a lot more information on the route The Tour will take going live. We've added some info on each of the towns and cities we visit as Start or Finish venues, plus some web links so you can find out more about the surrounding area and what there is to see and do at each venue.
Hopefully this will help you plan your day out, or maybe even days if you're going to stay over! For example you could come and watch Stage One in the Forest of Bowland, spend the night in the local area and then enjoy the short drive down to the Peak District to catch Stage Two. Or maybe plan a short break in the South West or East Anglia to catch the pair of stages we have in each location.
There will be more information on the route of each stage going live soon, so keep checking back! You should also see posters and leaflets appearing soon if you live near to one of the stages, so keep your eyes peeled!
Also up on the website now are the beginnings of the team information, with the first batch centred on the five domestic British teams who'll be looking to get one over on the UCI ProTour teams on their home roads.
On the subject of domestic teams, Dan Fleeman from Team Raleigh joined us in Bury St Edmunds and Colchester on Friday to help launch Stage Seven of The Tour. Dan proved a big hit with the media and schoolchildren at each launch, so if you're from Suffolk or Essex, look out for the coverage in your local media!
The ToB Team also had a great weekend at the Newham Mayor's Show telling everyone about the final stage of The Tour and also The Tour Ride that takes place immediately beforehand (details on www.tourride.co.uk).
So thanks to everyone who came and said hello, signed up or spent some time chatting on the stand, it was great to meet you all!
Ciao for now!
