The teams

Over the course of the six editions of The Tour of Britain to date we've had some great names take part in the race, some were already famous when they first arrived, for others, The Tour of Britain has been a barometer of their future success.

Some of the riders who've given early pointers of what was to come at Tour of Britain include Nick Nuyens (winner in 2005), Andy Schleck (winner of the King of the Mountains jersey in 2006), Matt Goss (yellow jersey wearer 2006, stage winner 2007) and Edvald Boasson Hagen (a triple stage winner in 2008 before clinching the Overall title in 2009).
