Garmin Cervelo

Over the winter two of last year's Tour of Britain participants, Garmin and the Cervelo Test Team, merged to form this superteam, led by World Champion Thor Hushovd. The multinational line-up features riders from 13 different nations, including riders as diverse as current Brazilian Champion Murilo Fischer and Australian’s Matt Wilson, Brett Lancaster and the Meyer twins.

British cycling fans have plenty of interest too, with double Tour of Britain stage winner Roger Hammond, Daniel Martin, Daniel Lloyd and multiple Grand Tour stage winner David Millar, who will be looking at the Stage 8a Individual Time Trial as a chance to take a rare victory in front of home crowds.

The team have plenty of Tour of Britain links, with 2011 Paris Roubaix victor Johan Vansummeren a former Sprints Jersey winner and Julian Dean a winner of the Points Jersey in the 2004 Tour of Britain.

Garmin Cervelo have enjoyed an excellent 2011 since their merger, picking up wins from early in January at the Australian Road Race Championships right through the season including wins at both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.
