Volunteer

What could I be asked to do?

We have a variety of roles available for volunteers, ranging from, but not limited to, marshalling crossing points, keeping the route clear at King of the Mountains climbs, marshalling team parking, to selling programmes and dealing with general enquiries from spectators. Duties will be advised on the day.

It’s worth noting that volunteering on the route at King of the Mountains and Sprint locations will involve different roles to those at the finish. At these locations you may be involved in helping layout the KoM / Sprint point and marshalling spectators leading up to the line.

Don’t worry though; you’ll have all the support you need from The Tour’s race staff.

British Cycling

With more than 3,000 cycling events taking place every year, British Cycling has a whole host of opportunities for you to get involved as a volunteer, spectator or rider.

For more information visit: www.britishcycling.org.uk.

Volunteer

It’s your opportunity to make a difference and be involved in the UK’s premier cycle race as a volunteer at The Tour of Britain.

You can now register your interest to be a member of The Tour’s volunteer team for 2010, helping ensure that the event is a success for teams, riders and spectators.

What do you need to do next?

All you need to do is fill in the Volunteer Form specifying which stages/stages you’d like to be involved in. You’ll then receive an automated response, before we get back to you during mid-August with more details. Don’t worry, at this stage you’re not committing to anything!

What do I get?

You’ll receive a Tour of Britain Goody Bag and the thanks of The Tour’s organising team for playing your part in the 2010 edition of the race and knowing that without your help, The Tour would not be such a success!

Volunteering is also a great way to get involved in sport and to take a behind the scenes look at what goes into putting on The Tour of Britain.

Please note: All volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
