You wait for ages for one and then two come along together. So here's my second blog this month, after all we did promise you'd be getting a lot more Tour of Britain information over the coming weeks as we build up to September.

If you've had a look around the website this week you'll see there's a lot more information on the route The Tour will take going live. We've added some info on each of the towns and cities we visit as Start or Finish venues, plus some web links so you can find out more about the surrounding area and what there is to see ...

Full speed ahead for 2010 http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Hi everyone!

Apologies for the long break between blogs, but rest assured that now we're firmly into the summer we'll be blogging more often in the build up to The Tour of Britain. In fact there are just ten weeks to go until The Tour gets underway with Stage One from Rochdale to Blackpool, so preparations are in full swing.

While we may have been quiet on the blogging front, it's been all action on the cycling front. The Halfords Tour Series once again brought exciting town and city centre racing to a High Street near you, or even into your living room thanks to the ...

2010's Looking Good! http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Happy new year everyone!

In my last blog post I commented about The Tour team not taking any rest and cracking on with developments for this year's Tour. Well, taking a look back at what has been acheived so far, all I can say is that 2010 is looking good!

The venues for all eight stages are almost completed and the sponsors are coming on board. In addition to this, teams are already expressing an interest to get involved with the race which can only be seen as a good sign for the event.

Also, I thought I'd mention that I had a meeting with the our web ...

As we prepare for 2010 http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ If there is one word you could use to describe this year's Tour of Britain, it would have to be "fantastic"! That's exactly how you could describe the racing, the organisation of the race and the spectacular crowds that came to support the riders everyday. And having met with a few of The Tour partners since the race came to an end, I can say that they agree with me on this.

I have to say that The Tour organisational team have not taken any rest since the race came to an end and work on the 2010 event has already started. For example, discussions are underway with new and ...

Time flies by http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Time’s flying by isn’t it. Hopefully you’ve all been watching and catching the great action on the ITV4 highlights show each evening. Five stages in and we’ve had three wins for Edvald Boasson Hagen (again!) and an emotional yellow jersey for Kai Reus, winning his first race since a life threatening crash in 2007. Of course as we reach the South West, Boasson Hagen is now in yellow, with a team backing him up who look ominously strong! Thursday’s stage could well shape the race (just as in 2007 and 2008), so remember to keep visiting the website to get all the latest ...

Stage One Update http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Phew!  What a stage!

Beautiful sunshine, great action and of course fantastic crowds all the way from the start in Central Park at Scunthorpe to York where there was an exciting finish with the sprint going right down to the line.

Ashby, Burringham, Pocklington…to be fair we could list just about every town or village we passed through and even some more remote spots in betwwen.  So thanks for your great support, it really is appreciated!  Also it looks like North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire and Humberside have set the standard pretty high, ...

The Tour kicks off! http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Hi all - it's been a while since my last post. And for good reason! Have been travelling around the UK meeting with all the local partners for The Tour and even managed to get a day out in the saddle with Dean Downing (brother of Tour of Ireland winner, Russel).

Well this past week we've all been at the Race HQ in Hull getting ourselves ready for the best Tour of Britain the country (and the world) has ever seen. Today also saw the pre-race press conference take place. Both Russel Downing (CandiTV - Marshalls ...

Teams announced for 2009 http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Well, nine out of the 16 teams taking part in this year's Tour of Britain to be exact. The organisers of The Tour this afternoon announced the names of the teams, but couldn't announce the names of the riders as these don't have to be confirmed until closer to the event I'm told.

That said, the teams you will have the pleasure in watching race on our British roads are:

• AG2R La Mondiale
• Agritubel
• Barloworld
• CandiTV – Marshalls Pasta
• Team Columbia – HTC
• CSF Navigare
• Team ...

Teams for 2009 Tour http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/_ns_blog/ Good news folks! A reliable source within The Tour of Britain crew has just informed me that they will very soon be announcing details of some of the teams that have signed up for the Tour this year. Haven't been given all the details but have been told that there are some big name teams taking part.

Tomorrow also sees the start to the Tour de France. For those of you who will be following the race, make sure to listen out for Graham Jones, Tour of Britain's route director, on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra as he'll be covering the race for them while travelling around France.
