Along the way the race took in the best of Cumbria, Cheshire, Wales, Bath, Devon and Bristol as the world's best cyclists were taken on a challenging and beautiful route through Britain.

The 2015 race saw 120 of the world's top riders taking on a tough route for Britain's national Tour, featuring a hill-top finish at Hartside Fell in Cumbria, and a first visit for the modern Tour to the world famous city of Edinburgh. Beginning on the island of Anglesey in the North West of Wales, the race once again finished in London, but on a new circuit taking in the capital's most iconic landmarks, such as Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.

The 2014 race was bookended by spectacular city centre circuits in the heart of Liverpool and London, while also including the beauty of the Dartmoor National Park and a summit finish on The Tumble in south Wales. The Sussex coast and Brighton also featured in a route that made for a week of exciting, attacking racing and a number of a different wearers of the Yellow Jersey.
