Spectators should note that the Stage Five team time trial approaches Whinlatter from Lorton (stage map is available here), while the climb is tackled twice from Braithwaite direction on Stage Six.

ACCESSIBILITY
For people travelling to Whinlatter for the stage finishes, please consider:

Bike: A limited number of spaces are available on the bike rack at the rear of Whinlatter Forest & Visitor Centre, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Cyclists need to provide their own lock; bikes are left at owner’s risk.

Bus: Service bus route form Keswick to Buttermere (route 77) operated by Stagecoach will be running on Friday 7 September (for Stage Six), until the rolling road closure comes into operation. Visit the Stagecoach website for information and timetables.

Car parking: The Forestry Commission will have 250 car parking spaces available for each day of the Tour. Tickets for event car parking on both days must be purchased in advance at a cost of £15 per vehicle per day. These can be purchased from the Visitor Centre in person by calling (01768)  778469.

The car park will open at 08:00 on Thursday 6 September (Stage Five team time trial); no access will be permitted through the road block in Braithwaite after 11:30 and patrons will only be able to exit the car park from 15:30 once the stage has finished.

The car park will again open at 08:00 on Friday 7 September (Stage Six road race); no access will be permitted through the road block in Braithwaite after 10:30 and patrons will only be able to exit the car park from 17:00 once the stage has finished. Full terms and conditions will be provided at the time of purchase.

Disabled Parking: A limited number of disabled/easy access parking will also be available – please contact the Visitor Centre to arrange one of these spaces. A £15 parking fee per vehicle per day will apply. Call (01768) 778469 or email whinlatter@forestry.gsi.gov.uk.

ROAD CLOSURES
Owing to the finish location of Stages Five and Six, a full road closure will be in operation on:

Whinlatter Pass (B5292): This road will be closed on both days of the event, with access only for permitted vehicles and emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be permitted throughout.

– STAGE FIVE TEAM TIME TRIAL: from 11:30 until 15:30 (Lorton side)
– STAGE SIX ROAD RACE: from 10:30 until 17:00 (Braithwaite side)

WHAT’S ON?
Whinlatter Forest & Visitor Centre offers food and drink provided by Siskins café, a family picnic area, GoApe tree top adventure (book on the day), mountain trails, WildPlay area, osprey talks and an e-bike test ride experience.
