Yeovilton

The start of Stage 2 of this year’s Tour of Britain takes place at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, home to one of the remaining Concorde planes.

On the day of the race itself the technical team of The Tour of Britain will be on-site from 5am, working flat out to build the stage start which travels with the race every day. Before every stage the start gantry and signing on podium must all be in place in time for 8:45 when hospitality opens and the riders begin to arrive at the start.

Every rider taking part in the race must attend the signing in ceremony each morning, making the signing in podium a great place to take photos of your favourite riders, and maybe even to get an autograph. Signing in opens at 09:15.

Signing on closes at 10:20, with the riders wearing the leaders jerseys in each of the competitions the last to be presented to the crowd, from where they will head straight to the start line.

At around 10:15 the official start of the stage will take place and the riders will leave Yeovilton. The stage starts with a neutralised section, allowing the riders to leave the start area safely, with the action beginning once the neutralised section is left behind at 10:30.
