Bramhall, in Stockport MBC, is preparing a special welcome for the final stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain on Saturday 14 September.

The Greater Manchester stage of Britain’s biggest professional cycle race coincides with the village’s annual ‘Back in Time’ scarecrow festival, which finishes on the day of the race.

Organised by Bramhall & Woodford Rotary Club, the event raises money for local charities, and this year will be helping to celebrate Stage eight, which is due to pass through Bramhall town centre at around 11:30.

The route will take in Woodford Road and Bramhall Lane South, and we’ve been promised a route lined by scarecrows!

There will be events in Bramhall throughout the day to enjoy, including music and dance, mystifying magicians, Bramhall School of Dancing, Poynton Jemmers and Adlington Morrimen, plus a trail for kids to follow with a prize goody bag at the end.

Thanks to Stockport MBC there will be free car parking and Bramhall, and the judging of the scarecrow competition by the Mayor of Stockport, Laura Booth, and Mary Robinson MP.
