Margam Country Park will host the Tour of Britain for the first time this year as the final stage of the 2023 edition gets underway from the beautiful surroundings of the park on Sunday 10 September

However, it won’t just be the world’s best lining up in the park, as our partners at Neath Port Talbot Council have an exciting range of activities planned from archery to junior Dirt Crit mountain bike races.

The competing teams are expected to arrive at Margam Country Park from 9:30am to begin their preparations for the 166.8-kilometre stage eight showdown, which begins at 11:15am.

Among the additional activities planned for Margam Country Park on Sunday 10 September are:

  • The PASS – cyclo sportive including:
    • Dirt crit – mountain bike race for juniors and adults – advanced booking required here.
    • Balance bike taster sessions
    • Skills area – fun, free short course with a rolling leaderboard
    • eBike tasters
    • Family bike ride around the lake
  • The Ospreys will be in attendance with activities to join in with
  • Have a go at archery with the Margam Archers
  • Go Ape – high wire adventures will be open from 12:30pm
  • Margam Park Adventure will be open from 12:30pm for eBike, mountain bike, and go-kart hire, and also water activities such as Pedalos, Canoeing, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle boarding
  • Meet Dr Bike
  • Meet the Celtic Leisure team for freebies, games, and more
  • Find out about the Neath Port Talbot Borough Council Cycle-to-Work Scheme


The support events will take place whatever the weather conditions, although these are subject to change on the day in the event of adverse conditions.
