Within the Tour of Britain there are four leaders’ jerseys to signify the rider topping the standings in their respective competitions.
These competitions – the races within the race, if you like – are specifically designed to enable as many riders as possible to challenge for glory at each edition.
Fans can see the classification leaders being presented with their jerseys in the podium presentation ceremony that follows each stage.
The race’s stunning leaders’ jerseys are designed and produced by Le Col, the leading UK-based performance cycling apparel brand. Thanks to one of the widest testing and development networks in cycling, Le Col make Grand Tour-winning performance apparel.
How the competition works
Awarded to the rider leading the Tour of Britain overall, the leader’s jersey is what every rider in the Tour seeks to pull on. The jersey is easily identifiable in the peloton, showing fans who is currently leading the Tour of Britain.
It is worn by the rider who has completed all stages up to that point in the shortest time possible – and not the person who has won the most stages!

How the competition works
Awarded to the most consistent finisher in the Tour of Britain, the cottages.com points jersey is Britain’s equivalent of the Tour de France’s green jersey.
The first 10 riders across each day’s finish line are awarded points on a 25-18-12-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
As part of a revamped competition in 2023, points at the race’s one daily intermediate sprint – strategically positioned along the route and offering 10, 7, 5, 3 and 1 point(s) – will also count towards this classification.
This jersey is presented by cottages.com, the UK’s leading provider of holiday cottages and luxury homes.
