Pembrey Country Park located 2.4 kilometres (1.5 miles) from the A484 in the south of Carmarthenshire.

ACCESSIBILITY
For people travelling to Pembrey Country Park for the start, please consider:

Bike/foot: Use the postcode SA16 0EJ to reach Pembrey Country Park.

Rail: There is a direct connection on the Cardiff-Fishguard line to Burry Port Train station.

Road: If travelling from the east or north, leave M4 at J48 and join the A4138 to Llanelli. Continue straight for approximately four miles, crossing three roundabouts and one set of traffic lights. At the Trostre roundabout please follow the signs for A484.

If travelling from the west, follow the A40 to Carmarthen, then the A484 to Llanelli and follow the brown signs.

Car parking: Pembrey Country Park offers over 1,200 car park spaces, although note there will be no parking on Factory Road or surrounding adjacent parkland.

Get there early and park for £2 before 09:00. Remember there will be no access after 09:30 to allow the race to depart safely and on time. Anybody arriving late at the park will be turned away; race fans are unable to park along the nearby A484.

Free parking is also available at Festival Fields in Llanelli or in Burry Port, with both areas giving immediate access to the traffic-free Millennium Coastal Path and then into Pembrey Country Park.

ROAD CLOSURES
Owing to the start location of Stage One, a full road closure will be in operation on:

Factory Road: from 09:30 until 12:00. This road links Pembrey Country Park and the junction with the A484.

Traffic management will be in place; spectators are advised to arrive early due to expected attendance levels. Traffic disruption is anticipated from 07:00 until 16:00 on race day.

WHAT’S ON?
Pembrey Country Park is hosting a two-day event over the weekend of 1-2 September to celebrate the OVO Energy Tour of Britain Grand Depart.

On both days, there will be numerous activities to try across the park. After the Grand Depart race fans will be able to follow the action on the venue’s big screen.

Don’t miss loads of activities in around the Grand Depart itself at Pembrey Country Park between 08:00 and 16:00 on race day. Activities include the OVO Energy Tour of Britain start village, cycling-themed entertainment, info on health, wellbeing, cycling, food and drink.
