SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling and Team WIGGINS Le Col confirmed their entry to this year’s OVO Energy Tour of Britain at Sunday’s South Coast Classic one-day race in Eastbourne.
Jacob Scott took the individual win in East Sussex for SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling, with Team WIGGINS Le Col’s Robert Scott finishing second, in the penultimate points-scoring event in the season-long qualification process to make sure of their invitation to Britain’s most prestigious cycle race.
Standings after round 12
Having both performed consistently over the course of the domestic season, SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling’s and Team WIGGINS Le Col’s results in the South Coast Classic ensured that Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK nor Ribble Pro Cycling could no longer catch them in the qualification battle.
They therefore join Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes and Madison Genesis in qualifying for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain.
SwiftCarbon, new to the British scene for 2019, will ride their first Tour in September. Team WIGGINS Le Col have previously competed in the 2015, 2016 and 2018 editions.

OVO Energy Tour of Britain team qualification
The qualification process has been devised once again by SweetSpot Group, organisers of the Tour of Britain, and British Cycling, with full consultation of competing teams throughout.
First introduced in 2016, the process establishes a fair and transparent selection of eligible British teams into the race, as well as ensuring full support of the HSBC UK | National Road and Circuit Series, OVO Energy Tour Series, HSBC UK | National Road Championships and the country’s UCI-ranked events each year.
