On the same day that the host regions for the 2022 Tour of Britain were revealed, last year’s race has been shortlisted as a finalist at the prestigious Sport Industry Awards.

The 17th edition of the modern Tour, which ran from Cornwall to Aberdeen and was won by Belgian star Wout Van Aert, is nominated for the Event of the Year category.

Competition comes in the form of BLAST Premier Fall Final 202, EFL Sky Bet Play Off Finals, The Hundred and Wimbledon – The Championships 2021.

Winners will be announced at an event at Evolution London on Thursday 12 May.

This is the second award that the race has been nominated for in the space of three weeks: the 2021 Tour of Britain is also shortlisted for the Sporting Event of the Year at the Event Production Awards.
