Rediscover all the action from the 2005 Tour of Britain, won by Belgian rider Nick Nuyens, with this archive footage that has gone unseen for 15 years!

The second edition of the modern Tour took place between Tuesday 30 August and Sunday 4 September, and was the first of two-consecutive editions to comprise six stages.

This newly-digitised footage comes from the BBC Grandstand highlights programme, broadcast on Sunday 11 September 2005. Whereas this footage was shown a week after the race, each stage of the 2019 Tour of Britain was shown live on ITV4 in its entirety across the UK, and was available to watch in over 150 countries.

Presented by Jill Douglas, with commentary from Hugh Porter and Chris Boardman.
